Thursday 14 December – Late night shopping 9am – 7pm, with FREE parking after 3pm
Thursday 21 December – Late night shopping 9am – 7pm, with FREE parking after 3pm
Late night shopping will be supported by the toilets, new adventure play area and customer service desk being open, until 7pm. We will also have live music (DJ) , roaming Santa, plus FREE prosecco and mince pies.
Christmas and New Year, standard opening hours, except:
Christmas Day – Closed
Boxing Day, 10am – 5pm ( Reel cinema open later) plus 50p parking all day
New Years Day, 10am – 5pm ( Reel Cinema open later) plus 50p parking all day
2 January 2024 onwards, standard opening times.

Light Up Wakefield Event
This years Christmas light switch-on event will be over the November weekend Friday 17, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November.
The actual light switch on is Friday 17 November at 5pm
We will have activities all weekend, including:
Free face painting – every day over the weekend
Visit by Santa – Friday 17 November
Curated Christmas fayre – Friday 17 November
Craft and Gift Fayre – Sunday 19 November
Live music ( Ridings DJ) – every day over the weekend
Magician – Friday 17 November
ALL businesses to stay open until 6 pm on Friday 17 November.
Plus for the first time to encourage even more footfall, parking will be only 50p ALL DAY on Friday 17 November
Father Christmas
Simply the best and only Father Christmas will be visiting the centre over the Christmas Period:
Friday 17 November
4pm – 4.45pm, Christmas Show with Father Christmas, main promotional space
4.55pm – 5pm, see Father Christmas on the main Light Up Stage
5pm – 6pm, centre walk about
Thursday 14 December
4pm – 7pm, Father Christmas and Christmas Elf Walk about.
Thursday 21 December
4pm – 7pm, Father Christmas and Christmas Elf walk about.
Ridings Toy Appeal
Friday 17 November – Sunday 24 December
Take a tag from the giving tree on the upper mall, next to the customer service desk, buy a suitably aged gift and return it to the desk, wrapped or unwrapped.
Presents donated Wakefield Street Kitchen, Stepping Stones, Kidz Aware and many more local charities.
