Mental Health Awareness Week 2021 10 – 16 May

8th May 2021

Mental Health Awareness Week.

The theme this year is nature, nature is so central to our psychological and emotional health, that it’s almost impossible to realise good mental health for all without a greater connection to the natural world.

Did you know here at The Ridings, we are doing our bit to connect to the natural world, our center roof is home to over 25 mini rooftop allotments, allocated to local residents, who do not have access to their own outdoor space, the roof is also home to an apiary (also known as a bee yard) and in addition, we are planting ‘living walls; in the car park area to both soften the area and to attract nature to the area.

We also partner with many mental health organisations including  MINT (Men In Trouble Together)  and  Turning Point Talking Therapies Wakefield who both do amazing work in the local community.

For more information on or to get involved on a local level with these projects, visit HERE or visit Mental Health Organisation to find out how to get involved with the mental Health Organisation.
