Long Division – 2018
foh-toh is a live photographic diary for the Wakefield district, capturing key moments from a local perspective.
In June 2018 30 disposable cameras were given to 30 particiapants to document the city of Wakefield during the 5 days of Long Division music festival.
The results provided a honest, reflective and truly fascinating snap shot of the city and the people within it. This exhibition of work shows a selection of the 531 photographs that were taken during the 5 days.
During the lockdown due to Covid-19, foh-toh was commissioned by
Creative Wakefield to document the city again, creating a new archive of images which show our city in this strange time. Photography has the power to help us explore and understand ourselves and our surroundings, foh-toh has provided a focus during this time and a platform to be creative, it has kept people connected to Wakefield and their communities at a time when many are feeling isolated.
