The Ridings, Wakefield – Parking System
Find out more about how we are making parking easier at The Ridings
To make parking easier, we have removed the barriers and installed new state-of-the-art pay stations.
There will also be a new smartphone payment option. Scan the QR codes for fast, easy payments.
The system will be “PAY AFTER YOUR VISIT” – please pay for your parking when you leave.
With all-day parking available for just £6.00, our car park offers excellent value for shoppers and people working in Wakefield city centre.
Visitors can park for just 50p all day on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Please note that overnight parking is no longer available.
We have over 1,000 spaces, including 43 blue badge holder spaces and 25 family parking bays with direct access to the centre.
Our car park uses a barrierless, ticketless system in which your number plate is automatically captured and recognised as you enter and leave.
We are now a pay-on-exit car park; find a space, ru you errands, catch up with friends and when you return, head to a pay machine or use the APP, enter your registration number, it will tell you how long you have been and it will tell you the amount due with a card or cash ( in centre only)
FREE parking at Reel Cinema will continue. They will validate your parking in the cinema as usual—you will need your car registration.
REMEMBER YOU WILL NEED YOUR CAR REGISTRATION NUMBER TO PAY FOR YOUR PARKING

MOVEMENT AND REMOVAL OF VEHICLES
- The Company reserves the right, at its discretion and without notice to the customer, to move any vehicle within the car park that is parked in a manner that obstructs the movement of any other vehicle or vehicles using the car park, or access to or egress from the car park.
- If any vehicle is left in the car park for a period exceeding seven days (other than by prior written arrangement with the Company), the Company reserves the right to remove such vehicle to other reasonably convenient premises of the Company for temporary storage.
