The Ridings Shopping Centre, Wakefield: New illuminations lead the way for a jam-packed festive season for all ages

This Yorkshire shopping centre has been standing for more than four decades, but its Christmas lights this year are new and inspired by the best Christmas light displays across the UK.

A stunning light arch welcomes shoppers into The Ridings Shopping Centre, which is decorated with festive displays.

There’s a photo trail with festive characters to take your photos with. There are also stunning twinkling lights adorning the ceilings.

There’s a Christmas Toy Appeal where people can donate toys for families in need.

Each weekend, there’s a range of festive entertainment, including walk-through characters.

Also, when it comes to Christmas shopping, there’s a range of independent shops, a butcher’s and places to eat and drink. Not to mention entertainment such as pottery painting, escape rooms, and  The Reel Cinema.

You can also join the REEL Cinema Wakefield on the upper mall, from 20th–24th December for their  Polar Express Pyjama Party.
